There’s a lot for in-house counsel to consider when their companies expand globally, according to a recent article by legal journalist Bev Cline in Lexpert magazine. “Business culture, human rights concerns and relationship nuances are just a few of the myriad considerations,” she writes. Here are some challenges in-house lawyers should brace for when going global:

Local partners. When expanding internationally, think about partnering with locals who can provide area-specific intelligence, such as the best locale for facilities, updates on political stability and how to hire skilled labor.
