Often touted as the primary productivity-suckers of Corporate America, meetings don’t have to be a waste of time, writes Mike Vardy in The Globe and Mail. Here are his tips on how to run a successful meeting that is worth more to your employees than the catered lunch provided.

Pick the right people: Keep meetings small and only invite those who absolutely need to be there for a clear reason, says Vardy. Ask yourself who will help make decisions and who is needed to contribute, to define the attendee list.
