Legal departments are looking more and more like business units, according to a newly released survey of nearly 120 U.S. companies. GCs are hiring legal operations managers, keeping a tighter rein on outside counsel spend, and increasingly implementing information governance programs.

The survey, the Law Department Benchmarking Report, was conducted by the legal consulting firm Consilio in partnership with The General Counsel Forum.
