Private equity firms are warming to the idea of co-investments, according to a report put out by Mergermarket and commissioned by Pepper Hamilton, which is based on interviews with 50 private equity partners, directors and principals across the country. Here are some of the report’s highlights:

Partnering up: Fifty-six percent of the funds reported that they actively offer co-investment opportunities to their limited partners from the outset. “PE firms are becoming increasingly hungry to offer [limited partners] the chance to invest and are being more proactive than reactive,” the report states.
