The Environmental Protection Agency has announced its National Enforcement Initiatives, or focus areas, for the next three years. According to the agency, the initiatives have been chosen after public input and reflect problem areas where there is significant noncompliance. Here’s what’s new:

Air: The EPA is targeting toxic air pollutants from large product storage tanks and hazardous waste generator, treatment, storage and disposal facilities. “Recent monitoring shows that facilities typically emit more [hazardous air pollutant] emissions than they actually report,” according to the agency.
