One of the Federal Trade Commission’s top lawyers is moving back to private practice. Sidley Austin announced this week that Jonathan Nuechterlein, general counsel at the FTC, is joining the firm as a partner and will co-lead the firm’s communications regulatory practice. He was a Sidley associate in the 1990s.

“Jon is one of the most well-respected regulatory and competition policy lawyers in the country,” said Mark Hopson, managing partner of Sidley’s Washington, D.C., office. “[W]e are proud to welcome him back to the firm.”
