When the cherry blossoms bloom, employee productivity often drops off. “Surveys have shown that as many as 70 percent of employees admit to wasting time at work on a daily basis,” according to a recent blog post by Katherine Erdel of Bingham Greenebaum Doll. Here are her suggestions for getting them back on track:
• Communicate expectations: “Set clear, big-picture expectations so that every employee knows the company’s vision and goals,” suggests Erdel. Then, tell staff how they fit into the company’s goals and craft performance reviews accordingly.
