Michael Mersch is suiting up for the fight as World Series of Fighting’s new chief operating officer and general counsel. In this role, Mersch will oversee Las Vegas-based WSOF’s business operations and legal affairs, which includes handling talent, television, venue, sponsorship and merchandising agreements, and manage the league’s government relation efforts.

It isn’t the first time on the mat for Mersch. According to his LinkedIn profile, he served for more than eight years as the senior vice president of business and legal affairs and assistant general counsel at Zuffa LLC, which owns the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He also had a stint as senior deputy attorney general for Nevada and, most recently, was the Nevada AG’s office’s general counsel.
