There’s some new energy in the legal department at Emerson Electric Co. The Fortune 500 company announced on April 6 that Sara Yang Bosco has been named senior vice president, secretary and general counsel. She starts May 15 and replaces Timothy Westman, who has temporarily been filling the role and is set to retire at the end of the year.

Currently, Bosco is president of Emerson Asia-Pacific, a position she’s held since 2008 after joining the company in 2005 as general counsel for the Asia-Pacific region. Before Emerson, Bosco worked at Baker & McKenzie and Perkins Coie. She’s been named a leading business lawyer practicing in Asia, where she’s lived and worked for the past 24 years. She attended the University of Notre Dame and has a law degree from Indiana University.
