General counsel are increasingly becoming influential components of senior management teams, according to a new survey of U.S. corporate directors and executive officers conducted by BarkerGilmore and NYSE Governance Services

Ninety-three percent of respondents said they currently consider the GC to be part of the executive management team. What’s more, nearly 97 percent expect the GC to be part of the executive management team by 2020, which is a significant increase from the 81 percent who said that a decade ago.
