The United Kingdom is poised to have more female solicitors than men by 2017, according to the latest Annual Statistics Report from the Law Society.

According to the report, as of July 2015, there were 65,147 women solicitors with practicing certificates as compared with 68,220 men. The number of women solicitors has expanded 3.8 percent annually for the last five years, compared with 1.3 percent for males. The number of female partners increased at a slower rate of 1.4 percent since the prior year’s report, however.
