What should you do when you suspect an employee has an alcohol problem? It’s a question recently tackled by Amy Epstein Gluck of FisherBroyles in this blog post.

First, she notes that alcoholism is considered a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Employees can be offered rehabilitation, counseling and modified work schedules to reasonably accommodate them and they can also be granted leave for a treatment program under the Family and Medical Leave Act, she says.
