It’s not football season yet, but the Detroit Lions have a new quarterback for their legal team. The NFL franchise announced this week that Jay Colvin will sign on as senior vice president of legal affairs and general counsel.

Colvin, a former certified public accountant who most recently worked as a partner at Michigan-based Bodman PLC law firm, is no stranger to the Lions organization. “Jay has worked closely with the Lions on legal matters for more than 20 years,” team president Rod Wood said in a statement. “His broad familiarity with the organization and staff will enable him to make an immediate impact.”
