Companies have been actively increasing the size of their trademark portfolios. But the increase in trademark-related support services, such as watching the market and monitoring for abuse and infringement, is not keeping pace, according to a new study by the IP management and analytics company Lecorpio.
In its first trademark management study, released on Wednesday, Lecorpio found that trademark workloads are expanding but team size and budgets are not. In addition, reliance on outside counsel for trademark matters did not see an increase, said Elisa Cooper, Lecorpio’s vice president of marketing.
