A legal showdown between two of Hollywood’s largest and best-known talent agencies just got a little more complicated as the plaintiff, Creative Artists Agency, has dragged defendant United Talent Agency’s general counsel and associate general counsel into the fray.
In an amended complaint filed on May 20, CAA alleges that Andrew Thau, general counsel and chief operating officer of UTA, and Michael Sinclair, associate general counsel at the agency, as well as UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer, were involved in a successful conspiracy to poach a group of high-value talent agents from CAA.
