At BuzzFeed, news and videos spread quickly, and Allison Lucas is the one making sure that all of that content is up to legal standards. As the first-ever GC of the New York-based media company, Lucas has been integral to growing her team to five attorneys since 2013. She has a rich background in media and IP, previously working for United Media and Gilt Groupe. Lucas sat down with staff reporter Stephanie Forshee to chat about the legal operations, and why joining BuzzFeed was an opportunity she couldn’t turn down.
