SAN FRANCISCO — California is a tough place to be an in-house lawyer dealing with employment law or environmental law. That’s the finding of a recent survey of corporate counsel conducted by the law firm Archer Norris and ALM Legal Marketing, a division of Corporate Counsel’s parent company, ALM Media.

The Archer Norris Litigation Survey 2016 is based on responses from 124 in-house lawyers at companies that do business in California. About 70 percent said that employment law is more difficult in California than in other states. About 57 percent said that environmental/regulatory issues are more difficult in California than in other states.
