As working from home becomes commonplace in other industries, general counsel are slowly warming up to the idea of letting their in-house lawyers telecommute.

According to a report released in June by U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 24 percent of U.S. employees do some or all of their work at home, an increase from 19 percent in 2003. In professional fields, that figure is 35 percent.
