Blood-testing startup Theranos Inc. announced Thursday it has hired a new chief compliance officer and a new vice president of regulatory and quality as the health care technology company grapples with a regulation and litigation maelstrom.

The announcement from the Palo Alto, Calif., company comes two weeks after federal regulators banned founder and Chief Executive Elizabeth Holmes from running labs for at least two years.
