Months after Dutch telecom giant VimpelCom Ltd. agreed to settle bribery charges with regulators both at home and abroad, the company hired a new chief compliance officer. J. Daniel Chapman joins the Amsterdam-based company from Cameron International, where he held a similar role.
According to Chapman’s LinkedIn profile, he is based in Houston. His former company, Cameron International, manufactures oil drilling and refinery equipment. Chapman was chief compliance officer and counsel at Parker Drilling Co. from 2009 to 2014. He got his start as an associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in 1996 and later joined King & Spalding.
