This is the year that corporations must demonstrate compliance with the U.K. Modern Slavery Act. Companies with fiscal year-ends of March 31 are the first to have to comply with the new regulations, with others facing ongoing deadlines throughout the year.

Enacted in March 2015, the law requires compliance by all businesses that supply goods and services to the U.K. and have annual gross receipts (or total annual turnover) of £36 million (about $50 million).
