Elisa Garcia, Office Depot Inc.’s chief legal officer, is leaving the company on Aug. 17 and will join Macy’s Inc. as chief legal officer three weeks later. Garcia succeeds Dennis Broderick, who will retire as Macy’s general counsel and secretary after 29 years of service.
On the same day Garcia resigned from Office Depot, that company named Kristin Campbell company named Kristin Campbell, general counsel of Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. and former GC of rival Staples Inc., to its board of directors. The timing appears to be a coincidence.
