The lawyers at San Jose-based e-commerce company eBay Inc., led by GC Marie Oh Huber, proved their mettle in many ways last year. Perhaps the most impressive work by the company’s 55 U.S. attorneys was their support of major deals.

The biggest transaction was the spinoff of PayPal Holdings, itself a company worth over $40 billion. During the 10-month process, the in-house lawyers worked to obtain proper regulatory approvals, create new intercompany agreements and ensure that employees moving over to PayPal got new benefits and compensation. And as the PayPal separation was coming to a close, the eBay lawyers picked up and executed on another huge deal—the sale of eBay’s Enterprise business for $925 million. This was on top of seven other smaller deals that the attorneys worked on last year.
