Former deputy general counsel Christopher Holmes has been named general counsel at scandal-scarred Baylor University, which has been widely criticized for its handling of women’s complaints of sexual violence perpetrated by football players.

Holmes, who had been interim GC, declined to comment on his role during both the scandal and the internal investigation by the law firm Pepper Hamilton. He now must help defend the school against a growing list of women students filing lawsuits over sexual violence.
