The growth of international arbitration has lured the former global general counsel of PricewaterhouseCoopers back into private practice. Javier Rubinstein is leaving PwC to join Kirkland & Ellis on Oct. 1 to help build the law firm’s international arbitration practice.

Before serving 10 years as GC of the Big Four accounting firm, Rubinstein was a litigation partner with Mayer Brown, heading its Chicago litigation group and specializing in international commercial and investment arbitration. Since 1996 he has served as a lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School, teaching U.S. Supreme Court litigation, international commercial arbitration and management of legal risk in a global economy.
