To fight so-called patent trolls, the top lawyer at Newegg Inc. has teamed up with a duo of hackers to launch Unpatent, a crowdfunding and crowdsourcing website aimed at raising money to invalidate dubious patents.

Unpatent, which launched last week, is led by CEO Luis Cuende a 20-year-old Spanish hacker and entrepreneur. Another tech whiz kid from Spain, Jorge Izquierdo, 19, serves as chief technology officer. And Lee Cheng, Newegg’s chief legal officer and an outspoken critic of patent trolling, serves as adviser.
