An important asset for any company is its domain name. There are now more domain name options than ever before, which opens up more opportunities for abuse. It is therefore critical to be vigilant about protecting domain names, in-house lawyers say.

One tool that can be used for strong protection is a domain name dispute. And according to a recent blog post from the GigaLaw Firm, this appears to be an option that more and more companies are relying on. Public data published on the World Intellectual Property Organization’s website reveals that at the current pace, 2016 could be a record year for domain name disputes.
