Samsung Electronics Co. is asking for a do-over of an en banc Federal Circuit decision that reinstated a $119 million jury verdict for Apple Inc. in the companies’ second smartphone trial.

The full U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit took the unusual step of reconsidering and overturning the victory for Samsung Oct. 7 without briefing or argument. That stunning development isn’t sitting well with Samsung and its attorneys at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, who are now asking for en banc review of the court’s en banc decision.
