As speculation continues about who is on President-elect Donald Trump’s short list for administration positions, Bloomberg News has uncovered that Kevin O’Connor, general counsel for hedge fund titan Steven Cohen’s investment firm Point72 Asset Management, is part of Trump’s transition team. In this role, O’Connor will oversee staff picks for the U.S. Department of Justice.

In June 2015, O’Connor took on the general counsel role at multibillion-dollar investment firm Point72, which is run by Cohen. Point72 was established in 2014 as the successor to SAC Capital Advisors, which agreed to plead guilty to insider trading in 2013 and pay a record $1.8 billion in fines. O’Connor was not with the company at that time.
