Business Insider announced Thursday that Michael Kingfield will be stepping into the role of general counsel.

Kingfield was the company’s first in-house lawyer and brought on a second in-house lawyer, Julia Le, last year. He joined the New York-based media company in 2014 as the vice president of business development and legal affairs. One year later, he took the title of senior vice president of legal affairs.
