A Monmouth County, N.J., town sued for discriminating against Latino workers has agreed to allow day laborers to gather on public property for the purpose of soliciting work.

The agreement, if approved by a federal judge, would end a class action suit filed three years ago when the borough of Freehold, N.J., shut down an area where laborers, primarily Hispanic, routinely gathered for pickup by contractors seeking per diem help.
