Akerman Senterfitt has expanded its environmental practice with the addition of Robert M. Andersen, former chief counsel of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Andersen, who joins as a shareholder in the Washington office, comes from New York’s Dewey & LeBoeuf. Prior to that, he was chief counsel of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he managed a network of 400 attorneys and oversaw worldwide legal issues. He previously served as the first general counsel of the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board and deputy general counsel of the National Science Foundation.
