Merrick Alpert and Carlton Chen v. Colt’s Manufacturing Co., Donald Zilkha and General William Keys: Two former top executives for Colt’s Manufacturing Co. have settled multimillion-dollar wrongful termination claims against their former employer in a case that hinged on the validity of secretly drafted severance agreements.

The settlement between the former executives and the legendary West Hartford gunmaker comes about a month after a Superior Court judge ruled against the company’s motions to have the lawsuit dismissed and just as the trial was scheduled to begin. Lawyers involved in the litigation would not discuss the financial terms of the settlement.
