Connecticut's representative on the American Bar Association's Board of Governors has stepped down.

Alice Bruno informed members of the Connecticut Bar Association of the move this week. Bruno was nominated to be a Superior Court judge earlier in the year, and the Connecticut Judicial Branch apparently bars new judges from holding such positions.

Bruno represents the Second District on the Board of Governors, which includes both Connecticut and Rhode Island. The 38-member board has the authority to act and speak for the ABA, consistent with previous action of the House of Delegates, when the House is not in session. The board usually meets four times a year.
