Tanya Bovée has always kept a busy schedule. Not only does she have an employment law practice at a national law firm, but she's been a leader in one of the state's most active minority bar groups and has served on the Connecticut Bar Association's Diversity Committee. Further, she has devoted countless hours to mentoring younger attorneys and has been honored for those efforts.

Now Bovée is taking on much more responsibility. She has been named the new managing shareholder in the Hartford office of Jackson Lewis, a national firm whose 800 attorneys represent management in employment matters. The Hartford office has 23 attorneys. Jackson Lewis also has nine attorneys in Stamford.

On Jan. 1, Bovée will succeed Beverly Garofalo, who decided to step down from the position she has held since 2008 to focus on her own employment law practice. “Tanya was a clear choice to take the reins in Hartford, given the exceptional service she has demonstrated in other key leadership roles – including co-chair of Jackson Lewis' Asian American Resource Group and past president of the Connecticut Asian Pacific American Bar Association,” firm chairman Vincent A. Cino said in a prepared statement. “She has strong ties to the Connecticut legal community and is well-known as a skilled attorney; we look forward to seeing how she will grow the Hartford office.”
