A 50-year-old Montville man paralyzed from the waist down after scaffolding he was on collapsed has been awarded $3.6 million by a New London jury.

The Superior Court jury sided with Nathaniel Sutera, who has spent $608,000 to date on medical care, and is expected to spend another $1.5 million going forward. A motion to set aside the March 9 verdict is set to be heard April 13 by Judge Timothy Bates.
