Five months after he was accused of stealing more than $2 million from his own law firm, Sean McHugh is seeking to dissolve it and appoint a temporary and permanent receiver.
In several filings made with Middletown Superior Court on Thursday, McHugh accused partner David Chapman of verbal and physical abuse. McHugh is a managing member and partner of McHugh, Chapman & Vargas in Middletown,
The filings do not address the claims made in a lawsuit filed in April accusing McHugh of diverting profits from the firm for his own use. The lawsuit also claimed McHugh falsified expenses to avoid state and federal income tax liability.
