Joan Maloney Appointed
Executive Director of CTLA
The Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association has promoted Chief Financial Officer Joan D. Maloney to executive director of the 1,300-member fellowship.

“We are thrilled that after an exhaustive, nationwide search, Joan has accepted the position of executive director,” said James Horwitz, president of CTLA.

“Everyone involved agreed that Joan clearly was the most qualified candidate. During the interview process it was clear that Joan has interesting ideas for the future of our organization—ideas we look forward to exploring in the months ahead,” Horwitz added.

Maloney has been CFO since 2008, having previously served in the same position for John J. Daly in Boston. The Milton, Massachusetts, native now lives in Manchester with her husband and three children. She is a graduate of Boston College.

“I'm extremely excited and humbled to be named executive director of CTLA and am looking forward to taking the association to the next level,” Maloney said. “Our members already access a wide array of resources to help them share expertise and information, and we always are working toward expanding our resources, for our membership and for the public.”

The CTLA's mission is to preserve individual rights within the justice system.
