Connecticut Supreme Court Chief Justice nominee Andrew McDonald is appearing before the Connecticut Legislature's Joint Committee on the Judiciary now live at the state Capitol for his confirmation hearing.
McDonald's confirmation has received some pushback from Connecticut legislators on the Republican side. He is the first openly gay member of the Connecticut Supreme Court and would be the first openly gay chief justice upon confirmation, replacing recently retired Chief Justice Chase Rogers.
