Connecticut's Mitchell & Sheahan, www.mitchellandsheahan.com, has announced it will officially open its third Northeast office tomorrow (Friday, May 25) at Westport's historic Colonial Green.

A formal ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, led by Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe. The new office is located at 246 Post Rd. East, on the second floor.

“We are very excited that Mitchell & Sheahan, P.C. found a home and expanded its practice to include Westport. We welcome them and wish them success in our community,” Marpe said in a release.

The Stratford-based firm concentrates on employment law and labor relations as well as litigation and trial practice.

“We are delighted to join the Westport business community and look forward to serving our new community from our new location,” said Margaret “Peg” Sheahan, founding principal. “As a small business ourselves, we are sensitive to the values, challenges and needs of enterprises like ours.”

Sheahan and co-founding principal, Robert “Bob” Mitchell have a combined 70 years of experience representing small- and medium-sized businesses, public entities and individual clients. Principal Gary Phelan is also a skilled adviser and litigator with 25 years of experience in employment law matters.

Maria Garcia-Quintner, Reese Mitchell and Jessica Slippen round out the firm's team of lawyers. Garcia-Quintner and Phelan both live in Westport.

“Our expansion into Westport reflects our growing client base in this town and surrounding communities,” Mitchell said. “The attorneys at our firm believe in personalized attention to each one of our clients. The addition of our Westport office provides further convenience for our clients as well as added space for our growing team.”

Mitchell, Sheahan and Phelan are listed in the Moffly Media Best Lawyers in Fairfield County. The firm's other two locations are 80 Ferry Blvd., Stratford, and 50 Main St., White Plains, New York.
