A federal judge has granted collective certification, allowing Bank of America employees in Connecticut to proceed with their lawsuit alleging the financial services firm improperly withheld overtime pay to some of its customer service staff.

In his 46-page ruling issued Monday, U.S. District Judge Victor Bolden wrote that plaintiff Aileen Culpepper “has made a modest factual showing that she and the other inbound specialists have been affected by a common policy or plan that violates the law.”
