Murtha Cullina Friedman Completes Term as SLS Connecticut President Murtha Cullina partner David P. Friedman recently finished his three-year term as president of the board of directors of Statewide Legal Services of Connecticut and will stay on as a board member.
SLS provides low-income people access to justice in civil cases. Friedman has been active with the organization for more than 20 years and has served as a board vice president and treasurer.
At Murtha Cullina, Friedman represents corporate and individual clients in complex commercial and civil litigation, including arbitrations and mediations. He has litigated cases in state and federal courts in Connecticut and New York and serves as general counsel to Murtha Cullina. Friedman is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, a board member of the Fairfield County Bar Association and a former attorney trial referee in the Connecticut Superior Court. Murtha Cullina has more than 100 attorneys in six offices throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York and is Connecticut's exclusive firm for the Lex Mundi network.
Paulo Louro Hired At Carter Mario Carter Mario Injury Lawyers has hired attorney Paulo Louro in the firm's corporate office in Milford.
Before joining Carter Mario Injury Lawyers, Louro worked in criminal defense, corporate litigation, insurance defense, family law, and trusts and estates. He has represented low-income individuals in Massachusetts and is a former attorney for the Law Offices of Salomone & Morelli.
Louro chose to focus on personal injury after spending years handling defense claims for large corporations and insurance companies, and decided to refocus his career to assist the individuals who have been harmed due to carelessness or negligence.
“Attorney Louro takes a personal approach to his cases. He ensures that his clients receive the personal care and attention that they deserve, and which we pledge to give each of our clients. We look forward to having him on our team,” said firm President and CEO Carter Mario.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
