The ticket to the Powerball game that would seal Jason Kurland’s fate was sold in Connecticut in 2011. But when the six numbers were selected that night, he didn’t give it a second thought.

Since then, Kurland has become a national celebrity of sorts, representing the Connecticut winners and others. His latest claim to fame has been in helping manage the $1.5 billion Mega Millions jackpot win in South Carolina this month.
