Lawyer Chelsea K. Choi Joins Murtha Cullina
Murtha Cullina has hired attorney Chelsea K. Choi as an associate in the firm's labor and employment practice group. A former associate with Halloran Sage, Choi covers matters including hiring, evaluation, discipline, layoff and termination of employees. She received her J.D. from Western New England University School of Law and was a note editor of The Western New England Law Review. She received her B.A., cum laude, from Syracuse University, where she was a team member and co-captain of the Syracuse University Cheerleading Program.

McCarter & English Celebrates Milestones
The McCarter & English Women's Initiative recently hosted a client event featuring a screening of the documentary film RBG, about the exceptional life and career of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her personal journey to the nation's highest court. Master of ceremonies Jane Warren, a Hartford-based partner in the firm's Environment & Energy Practice Group, welcomed approximately 50 guests to the McCarter & English Hartford office.
McCarter & English also announced intellectual property attorney Basam Nabulsi has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Stamford Innovation Week, host of the Fairfield County's annual ecosystem innovation festival. Nabulsi has spent significant time both in-house and in private practice, working in product development and commercialization.
Finally, the firm's Brittany Killian is this year's recipient of the Connecticut Bar Association's Honorable Anthony V. DeMayo Pro Bono Award. Killian is an associate in the firm's Business & Financial Services Litigation group and is admitted to practice in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Her recent experience includes second chairing an $8.8 million jury verdict in a bad faith breach of contract and fiduciary duty case.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
