A Danbury Superior Court jury has awarded $184,992 to a woman who suffered serious back injuries after a vehicle rear-ended the car she was driving.

The jury, which deliberated for one hour Friday after a day-and-a-half trial, awarded 29-year-old Trumbull resident Kimberly Scott $165,000 in noneconomic damages and $19,992 in economic damages. It was unclear at press time whether the defense, which has until May 16 to appeal to the Connecticut Appellate Court, will do so.
