Cordani Joins Robinson & Cole as Partner

Robinson & Cole has hired John L. Cordani as a partner in the firm's business litigation practice in Hartford, where he will focus on intellectual property and information technology litigation.

Formerly with McCarter & English, Cordani was also a partner with Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey.

Cordani maintains a worldwide patent litigation, prosecution, licensing and counseling practice. He is a registered patent attorney with extensive experience before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in document-intensive and scientific disputes.

“John is a great addition to our firm,” said Robinson & Cole Managing Partner Stephen E. Goldman. “His skill set, specifically in intellectual property litigation, complements our existing team and increases both the breadth and depth of our IP practice.”

Before attending Cornell Law School, where he was salutatorian of his class, Cordani worked as a chemist with multiple patents covering aspects of his research. He is an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University School of Law and has served as a pro bono special public defender.

“I'm proud to be joining Robinson & Cole,“ Cordani said. “The firm has a fabulous reputation and I am excited to be a part of a well-established team, with the deep bench strength that will allow me to continue to grow my practice and contribute to the firm.”
