The New York City office of White & Case represented Connecticut resident Mark Schand in a wrongful imprisonment case, which culminated in a $27.1 million jury verdict in Springfield, Massachusetts, federal court.
The law firm provided 12 attorneys, including counsel Joshua Weedman, partner Heather McDevitt and 10 associates, who worked the pro bono case of the Hartford man, who'd spent 27 years in prison before his exoneration.
In a telephone interview Tuesday with the Connecticut Law Tribune, Weedman and McDevitt outlined how the case was different from most, and how they worked on deciphering complex details to create easy-to-understand material for the jury.
