Melissa Brescia Joins Carter Mario
Carter Mario Law Firm announced that Melissa Brescia has joined the firm as an attorney. Brescia joins the legal team at the firm's corporate headquarters in Milford.
Before joining Carter Mario, Brescia worked in the areas of family law and personal injury. She has provided legal services for domestic violence victims, clients with workplace discrimination claims and veterans. She has also worked with the U.S. Senate, where she helped clients in foreclosure apply for federal assistance. She is listed on the brief for the Hendricks v. Haydu appeal, which changed how income is calculated for child support purposes.
"Melissa's extensive experience in pro bono and nonprofit work gives her a wealth of knowledge that our clients are sure to benefit from. We look forward to having her on our team," said firm President and CEO Carter Mario.
Brescia has extensive experience in pro bono work, litigation, education law and employment law. She received her law degree from Touro College Law Center after earning her undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Connecticut.
In addition to Milford, Carter Mario has offices in Hartford, New Britain, Waterbury, Bridgeport and North Haven.
|Neubert, Pepe & Monteith Welcomes Michael Iovanna
New Haven's Neubert, Pepe & Monteith hired civil litigation attorney Michael G. Iovanna as an associate focusing on construction litigation, commercial litigation and professional malpractice and insurance defense.
Iovanna has gained experience in pretrial proceedings, mediations, arbitrations and pretrial conferences. "We are excited to have Mike as an addition to our construction/design professional liability and litigation practice areas," said the firm's Kevin Godbout. "As a young associate he already possesses a solid set of litigation skills and we look forward to him honing them as we work together in these areas."
A graduate of the University of Central Florida and University of Connecticut School of Law, Iovanna was a competitor in the highly selective American Association for Justice student trial advocacy competition. He also interned with the Connecticut State's Attorney's Office.
Neubert Pepe has offices in New Haven, Fairfield and White Plains, New York.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
