House general counsel Douglas Letter called out lawyers representing President Donald Trump in the impeachment trial in letters to judicial panels and in Congressional lawsuits against the administration for presenting contradictory arguments on whether lawmakers have a right to sue the executive branch in federal court.

Letter submitted a pair of communications late Thursday to two panels on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, each weighing an impeachment-related lawsuit filed by the House and highlighting conflicting claims being made by different Trump lawyers.
