Pullman & Comley Promotes Scott to Partner
Pullman & Comley recently elected attorney Kelly A. Scott a member of the firm's family law group, working out of the Hartford and Westport offices in the area of matrimonial and family law.
A former attorney for the Westport boutique Law Offices of Ellen B. Lubell, Scott has been with Pullman for two years, representing clients in prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, dissolution, custody and visitation petitions and post-judgment matters. She co-chairs of the family law committee for the Young Lawyers Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, is a member of the Gala Committee for the Children's Law Center and a special master for family matters in the Fairfield Judicial District.
While earning her J.D. at the University of Connecticut School of Law, Scott externed for the Hartford Public Defender's Office and was a membership editor of the Public Interest Law Journal.
|LeBel-Lasse Named to E-Discovery Board
Patricia LeBel-Lasse, a paralegal in the litigation and internal investigations departments at Pullman & Comley, has been named to the Global Advisory Board of the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists, whose mission it is to stay ahead of technological trends.
Patricia LeBel-Lasse has worked at Pullman since 2000 and has more than 30 years of experience in legal and business fields. The ACEDS Global Advisory Board is a 19-person committee including leaders at major US companies and a justice of the New York State Supreme Court.

Partners Elected, Re-elected to McCarter Executive Committee
McCarter & English has elected Hartford partner Thomas Finn the newest member of the firm's Executive Committee, and has reelected partner Cynthia Keliher, out of the firm's Boston office, to the board.
"Tom and Cynthia are among our most accomplished lawyers and leaders, and understand the firm's business, its markets, its practices, and its personnel," said Joe Boccassini, managing partner for the firm. "They both consistently demonstrate a strong commitment to McCarter, our clients and the community. Their considerable skills and experience will help drive our continued growth and success."
Chair of McCarter's litigation practice, Finn has more than 25 years of experience in complex commercial litigation and white-collar criminal defense, handling all types of litigation and arbitration at the investigative, grand jury and post-indictment stages. He also conducts internal corporate investigations and advises clients on internal and government audits. Finn is co-author of Connecticut Business Litigation, the newest title in the Connecticut Law Tribune's book series published by ALM.
Keliher is co-chair of the firm's real estate practice and advises corporations on global leasing portfolios. She chairs McCarter's Women's Initiative Steering Committee, which has helped the firm receive Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum for seven of the past eight years.
Keliher is the immediate past president of the New England Chapter of the CoreNet Global, real estate professionals' association and is a past president of Boston CREW, a nonprofit with more than 400 members that promotes advancement of women in commercial real estate.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
